This box has become a fossil in my home for over a year now.
When dusted off and examined it displays the reality of
complete and utter surrender.
It holds a last breath of freedom. I've left it almost entirely intact for fear of disrupting the quiet of his worn out, yet unworn clothes and dog-eared books, folded and stacked neatly into place by a guard on October 07, 2005. This photograph was taken shortly after receiving the box later that month. I've hardly touched it again since.
